Welcome to Amazon Valley Academy 

AVA, or Amazon Valley Academy, has seen many changes throughout the years of its existence. But despite the changes, AVA has stayed committed to providing a thriving and dedicated institution that cares about its students and staff.  

We take the Word of God seriously and you will find that much of our curriculum interweaves the Bible in the different subjects taught. Mark 8:36 tells us, For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? Paul, who wrote much of the New Testament, tells us that, as to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless. 7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Philippians 3:5b-8a).

But the Bible also has much to say about gaining wisdom. Proverbs 1:5 says, Let the wise hear and increase in learning, and the one who understands obtain guidance . We strive toward academic excellence at AVA as well, but within the goal of acknowledging we are created by God who knows all things, and who gives us a heart of wisdom in order that we may achieve true knowledge based on His moral absolutes and not relative absolutes.

Mission Statement

AMAZON V ALLEY ACADEMY is a private educational institution, providing an American model of education from a Christian worldview perspective, which is distinct for its academic rigor and interconnected study of subjects. In the tradition of classical education, students at AVA are taught not only facts, but how to think, and then how to apply and communicate that thinking in English. AVA seeks to foster an environment where the gospel of Jesus Christ is taught to all, that disciples are made and spiritual growth and Christian character is built in our students.

We believe in the existence, accessibility, and applicability of God’s truth. Students should be able to articulate and defend truth.

We desire for all students to become people who consistently do right in thought, word, and action.  Therefore, we emphasize service, character development, a strong work ethic, perpetual growth, loving interaction with others, and an appropriate level of independence.  


Relationships

We desire to be a community where all are nurtured and appreciated.  All cultures are respected, all people are valued, and students are encouraged and supported individually. 


INternational IMPACT

We desire for our students and faculty to make a positive, lasting impact in any context in which they find themselves.  Students are trained to be good citizens and contributing members of their communities both now and in the future, regardless of the culture in which they find themselves.  


EDUCATION

We believe that education is most effective in the context of a clearly defined curricular approach, strong parental support, and international emphasis.  Therefore, we value the following:
